Solution
For this project, I wanted to focus on the tone of the final piece. This book centers around a beautiful girl who gets shot in the face and looses her lower jaw. I wanted to illustrate that part of the story since it is arguably the most important event that happens in the entire book. I choose red and black as the main colors for the design because in western culture, these are the two most sinister colors. Red typically conveys the meaning of blood or anger, and black is that of darkness or death. By combining the two I feel that this piece achieved my desire to be striking and convey the violent emotions that set the tone
of the book.
of the book.
